Smile Makeover

A smile makeover can revitalize a person’s life. Full mouth rehabilitation is a large commitment between both you and the doctor. Here at Dental Arts of Atlantis, we will work with you to develop a plan that is comfortable for you. Before anything is done, you will sit with one of our doctors to discuss a multidisciplinary plan and take some measurements for a rehabilitation plan. Record taking includes a full set of radiographs, series of photos, jaw relationship measurements, and a thorough history taking. We will communicate with one of our laboratory technicians with all the information gathered and develop a template for what you should expect the outcome to be.

Porcelain Veneers

Our doctors are members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and are constantly taking courses in cosmetic revitalization of smiles. Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain used to redesign the look of your teeth. Veneers are very case specific and require careful smile analysis to determine whether you are a candidate or not. Veneers are great options in situations where the original tooth is significantly discolored, have poor shape, or are not contoured properly. In most cases veneers can be used to close gaps between teeth. The difference between veneers and crowns is veneers require very little prepping of teeth, where as crowns require the entire tooth to be prepared.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth discoloration can either be intrinsic or extrinsic. Intrinsic stains tend to be deeper beyond the enamel. Most common intrinsic stains are usually caused by antibiotic use in the past (ex tetracycline staining). Extrinsic stains are caused by day to day routines staining the enamel. Some culprits causing extrinsic staining are, smoking, red wine, coffee, and teas. Extrinsic stains are easier to treat whereas intrinsic stains will require a deeper more involved bleaching method. Call us to day for a consultation to determine which treatment option is right for you.

Bonding and White Filling

Bonding is a popular method to enhance the aesthetics of your smile. Bonding can be used to correct cracks or gaps in teeth, as a filling after a cavity has been removed, or to cover up stains or discolored teeth. A composite resin is used on the affected tooth or teeth. It is molded and sculpted over an adhesive gel that is placed on the tooth. After the resin has been applied an ultraviolet light is used to harden the resin, which is then polished to give you a fresh, new smile. Bonding is an obvious improvement over unsightly silver amalgam fillings. With the advancements in dental technology, bonding usually lasts for over 10 years. It is a safe, affordable, and attractive solution for many dental problems.
